The Future of Retail Parks

On March 6th 2025, Parc Vallès hosted the IV Thematic Conference of the Spanish Association of Shopping Centers and Retail Parks (AECC), bringing together industry experts to analyze the evolution of retail parks in Spain.

During the event, the steady growth of these spaces was highlighted, with a 5.9% increase in sales and 1.907 billion visits in 2024. Additionally, the focus was placed on the importance of architectural innovation, sustainability, and the diversification of commercial offerings to enhance visitor experience and adapt to new consumer habits.

The key factors discussed in the different panels were:
✔️ Architecture and experience: Retail parks are evolving into more open, sustainable spaces with a greater presence of leisure and dining options.
✔️ Transformation of the commercial mix: The offer extends beyond traditional retail, incorporating gyms, clinics, and new business formats.
✔️ Investor attraction: With an investment volume of €223 million in 2024, retail parks are solidifying their position as a strategic asset.

The event concluded with a technical visit to Parc Vallès, a successful model in the transformation of the sector, with nearly 11 million annual visits and a 99.7% occupancy rate.

This event reaffirms Parc Vallès’ role as a benchmark in the evolution of commercial spaces, adapting to new industry trends and consumer needs.
